Flight Options

Tallinn is easy to reach from both Europe and North America, but currently quite difficult to reach from Russia. Below you’ll find the most practical routes for our guests, followed by a shared alternative that works for everyone. We hope this information would help to plan your trip to our wedding.

From Moscow, Russia

The following section is in Russian and provides more detailed information on visas and travel to Tallinn. To skip directly to the routes from Switzerland and Canada, here.

Эстония не выдаёт визы гражданам России, и попасть в Таллинн напрямую из России невозможно. Однако по-прежнему остаётся вариант въезда по шенгенской визе другой страны ЕС.

Шенгенская виза
Если у вас ещё нет шенгенской визы, рекомендуется подаваться уже сейчас и получать визу под конкретные даты поездки (например, с 20 по 27 июля). На практике визы гражданам России продолжают выдавать такие страны, как Франция, Испания, Италия, Португалия, Германия, Австрия, Греция и Швейцария. По состоянию на декабрь 2025 года, ЕС запретил выдачу многократных шенгенских виз гражданам России, однако краткосрочные визы всё ещё выдаются.

Примерные маршруты
Ниже приведены примерные варианты маршрутов из Москвы. Пожалуйста, учитывайте, что это только рекомендации: билеты можно найти дешевле, если составить более сложный маршрут или, например, выехать из Эстонии автобусом в Санкт-Петербург:

Въезд в Эстонию

При прилёте в Таллинн из страны ЕС пограничного контроля в аэропорту нет, поэтому въезд возможен. Если же лететь из Турции или другой страны вне Шенгенской зоны, будет паспортный контроль, и существует риск отказа во въезде.

Авиакомпания, в которой были зафиксированы случаи снятия пассажиров с рейсов - Ryanair (читать источник - здесь).

Также не рекомендуют лететь транзитом через Латвию, Литву, Польшу, Финляндию, Данию и Норвегию (читать источник - здесь).

Выезд из Эстонии
Выехать из Эстонии по наземной границе можно без проблем, однако в ТГ сообщают о длительных очередях. Рейсовые автобусы из Таллинна в Санкт-Петербург - здесь.

Zurich routes

From Zurich, Switzerland

Travel from Zurich to Tallinn is straightforward and well suited for both short and longer trips. Direct flights are available and are ideal for a weekend stay. These flights allow you to leave Zurich on Friday evening and return early Monday morning, making them perfect if you have limited time off.

For example, on July 24th you can depart Zurich at 21:45 and arrive in Tallinn at 01:30, and on July 27th return early Monday morning at 06:00, arriving in Zurich at 07:50. This route is ideal if you cannot add extra days, as it allows you to leave after work on Friday and be back in time for Monday morning (find tickets at SWISS).

If you have a bit more time or wish to explore Estonia or nearby countries, there are many simple connections with one layover. Daily options via Riga (airBaltic), Warsaw (LOT), Copenhagen or Stockholm (SAS), and Amsterdam (KLM) offer flexible departure times—from early morning to late evening—and dozens of possible routing combinations between ZRH and TLL.

If direct flights do not fit your schedule, there are many easy one-stop connections every day via major European hubs. These routes are reliable and flexible, with a wide range of departure times.

From Montreal, Canada

Guests travelling from Montreal can reach Tallinn via one of the European connections.

There are no direct flights from Canada to Estonia, but the journey is very manageable. The most common routes connect through major European cities, such as Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt am Main, Brussels, Copenhagen and others, before continuing on to Tallinn. These itineraries usually involve only one layover and have good onward connections (find tickets at Kayak). Total travel time typically ranges between 10 and 13 hours, depending on the routing and connection time. Keep in mind, if your itinerary connects via London, you may need a UK transit visa.

In some cases, flights routing via New York can be slightly cheaper, though they usually involve an additional stop.

A great option to consider: via Helsinki + ferry

No matter where you’re coming from, a flexible and popular option is to fly to Helsinki and continue to Tallinn by ferry.

Helsinki is well connected by air, and from there Tallinn is just a 2-hour ferry ride across the Gulf of Finland. Ferries run frequently throughout the day and evening and offer a comfortable, scenic crossing.

This option is ideal if flight times to Tallinn don’t work for you, or if you’d like to add a short stop in Finland to your trip.

Booking tips

We recommend booking your flights early, especially as July is a busy travel period in Europe. Prices tend to increase as summer approaches, and booking ahead usually gives you more choice in terms of routes, timings, and fares.

To find the connection that suits you best, we suggest using flight comparison websites such as Kayak, Skyscanner, Google Flights, or similar tools. These platforms make it easy to compare different airlines, connection cities, travel times, and prices, and to choose the option that works best for your schedule.
